EXPERIMENT 002: Leather Belongs on Your Desk
This is a continuation of the conversation we started with Poşet: leather is not luxury. It's a byproduct of the meat industry, and it deserves a better second life than being reserved for status objects.
Experiment 001 gave us a strong signal: people want that same conversation applied to more of daily life. So we asked: what if we started with the surfaces you touch for hours every day? Your desk. Your keyboard. Your mouse. Your coffee cup.
Most desk setups lean on plastic, vinyl mats, synthetic pads, materials that don't age and don't belong anywhere near your hands for eight hours a day. This set proposes something else: a natural, more responsible upgrade using real river buffalo leather, worked simply and left mostly alone.
This is still an experiment. If it earns your approval, it becomes a permanent part of the catalogue, proof that leather can be an everyday material, not an occasional luxury, and accessible enough to belong in any home or office.

This is Shrunken Buffalo — river buffalo hide with a grain so alive it practically moves.
Sourced from river buffalo and tanned through a combination process specifically developed for bags and small goods, Shrunken Buffalo is a different kind of leather entirely. At 6 oz. and 2.4mm, it is lighter and softer than its belting counterparts; soft in temper, fluid in hand, and finished with a full aniline technique that leaves the hide completely unguarded and completely itself.
The shrunken grain is the defining feature: bold, open, and naturally irregular in a way that no embossing tool can replicate. Each hide carries its own pattern of peaks and valleys, its own rhythm of texture, its own story written in the grain before it ever reaches the workshop. The high-gloss aniline finish deepens the contrast between those peaks and valleys dramatically, giving the surface a richness and visual complexity that rewards close attention.
This is full-grain buffalo at its most expressive: raw in character, refined in execution, and entirely unrepeatable from one piece to the next.
